RVICS Statement of Faith

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired by God and without error in the original writings, and that they are of absolute and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the true and only Son of God, identifying Himself with His creation through the supernatural conception of the Holy Spirit and birth by the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious, atoning death, His bodily resurrection and personal physical return to the earth some day.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ took on Himself the blame and punishment for all our sins when He died on the Cross of Calvary. Salvation is a free and unearned gift of God, given to those who receive Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior.
We believe that God created man in His image, that man sinned, and all mankind has been given the heritage of sin and death. Therefore, every person is lost in sin by the nature inherited from Adam, as well as by personal action and choice. Restoration to fellowship with God is available only through the person of Jesus Christ, by turning from sin in repentance and in receiving Him as our personal Savior.
We believe in the resurrection of the physical body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His presence there as High priest and Intercessor for us.
We believe in the physical resurrection of all mankind; those having received Jesus Christ as Savior to enjoy eternal blessedness in Heaven with the Lord, and all others being lost in suffering and damnation in Hell.
We believe that all human life is sacred, from conception to natural death. We also believe that God designed human sexuality to be expressed only within the context of monogamous marriage, which is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female.
